Freeze-Dried vs. Baked Dog Treats: What's the Difference?

Stand in the treat aisle long enough and you'll notice it: some treats are crisp and shelf-stable, others are soft and need the fridge. That difference comes down to one thing, how they're actually made.

Baking, The Familiar Way

High heat, similar to how you'd bake a batch of cookies. Great for shelf life. Not so great for the nutrients and flavor that get cooked out along the way.

Freeze-Drying, The Gentler Way

We start every batch by cooking to a safe internal temperature, a real safety step, not a shortcut, then freeze-dry it. That locks in flavor and nutrients in a way high heat just can't match, without skipping the part that keeps it safe.

So, Which One?

Depends what you're after. If you want something as close to the real ingredient as possible, single-ingredient, barely processed, and genuinely craveable, freeze-dried wins. That's the whole reason Wild At Heart and Liver A Little are made the way they are.
